How would you efficiently monetize this niche-specific traffic?

A friend of mine runs a blog in the niche of internet security. From everything to encryption, to Apache server configuration tutorials, privacy threats, vulnerability news etc etc.

It's basically a blog based on improving your privacy online (providing tips, software recommendations etc to provide a safer internet for users concerned with their privacy / data)

How do you think it would be best monetized?
We had a look at affiliate products but it is honestly really hard to find products for this niche, unless someone can shed some light.

Any ideas? Cheers guys

My recommendation is try with Adsense.

products such as AVG for security, etc may do good.

I guess that's an option. I just don't see it as being an effective one, affiliate marketing is where it's at in terms of $$, rather than a few measly dollars per day imo.

Also though of this. But does anyone seriously pay for these products anymore? Or is everyone just downloading cracked versions?

How much traffic is your friend getting on his site?

Some encryption software would be good. If you PM me I have an invite to a great one that I am already making good money from easily. =)
