How would you define AI?

Hello guys, I am just curious how would you define AI. I've heard a lot of definitions, like "AI is when machines do stuff and you can't explain how it works", "AI is when machines act like a human being". It's a very interesting subject, and also what do you think would be the best use of AI in Digital Marketing? Writing unique content? Doing actions like a real human? Learn how to talk in every language?

Really interested in listening to your opinions :)

AI is Artificial Intelligence (captain obvious). I think "AI is when machines act like a human being" or in some cases better then human. I've used AI in some tasks to automate mechanical\bored tasks. Like resolve captchas(even recaptches, but speed is very slow). There is big future, but for now very few opportunities were covered. At least in public. By now i try to make automation for parsing with RL (Reinforcement learning). Automate copyrighting and rewriting is also good scope for experimentation.
 
AI is when machines use statistics to decide stuff.

AKA "shit will necessarily happen when everything is run by AI"
 
an algorithm which can decide autonomously in a situation based on current data
 
I heard many posts and blog saying that they are using AI for online marketing. anybody here using it for online marketing for your campaign?

AI is one of the topics I am passionate about. To understand it better I advice you to watch the movie called "Her", This is so-called «A Spike Jonze love story» . It is about how our future with AI may look. Or like in this movie, how it could be when a lonely writer develops an unlikely relationship with an operating system designed to meet his every need.
 
AI is like the developmental stages of baby through to child , amplified to the nTH power, through wide bandwidth, sensory inputs, and massive computational power. However AI capabilities is not even close to the miracle of human consciousness.

The most important characteristic that makes AI truly AI and not just an algorithm is ability to learn and adapt. If it doesn't learn then is just a standard algorithm.

AI isn't meant to be creative.Humans are creative.AI only extracts feelings and emotions from those affected (morgelons for example).in my opinion Matrix is the most realistic SF movie. Hollywood has an interesting form of manipulation

Bro matrix is practically a documentary.

AI , thus far, has composed amazing music and written some ok songs, and done some trippy artwork plus created faces. But I agree that to be truely creative as humans, is the biggest challenge.

An AI cant make all the constituents of an amazing movie or game for example. In fact creative industries are the most safe with the coming AI industry revolution and it will be revolutionary, a lot of people from a lot of industries will be jobless.
 
AI is AI when it's not just a long list of 'if' 'or' 'else' statements.
 
AI is nowadays a wide field where multiple definitions could work as they are applied in different settings. You can see it as a way to simulate the actions of the human brain by using a computer. Or just a system that uses math and statistics to learn and decide itself without the need to exactly say what to do. Even though most people interpret it as they do with if-statements.
