I am being told you use a proxy for competitor research, but how would they know I am their competitor when I have a dynamic IP address?

even dynamic ip doesn't usually change often and they still know the city,
use noscript add on to block unwanted info about your computer

if your competitors read BHW for sure they know already you are researching them

Use a VPN, there's a few good ones out there. Tor browser might work as well.
