One of the fastest ways to get started in blogging is to just focus on the niche that you want to target.

For me, I would target niches only if there's a decent enough commercial value.

For example, if the monetization model that I'm thinking of using involves some sort of affiliate model, I would look at the base value of each product or service that I'm thinking of selling.

You have to understand that affiliate programs should be sized up in terms of the value of the units that you are trying to sell and the commission rate.

For example, you might get into a niche where each product costs $10,000—the problem is the search volume for such products is very low, and there's already a lot of competition.

In that type of situation, I would not even go for that product category.

On the other hand, if you find a product that sells for $100, and the commission rate is 5%, that may be worth doing if your competition isn't that heavy.
