There are close on 1 trillion documents on the www - all with "content" of some sort.
Ok, let's leave that fact for you to mull over and move on.
Right you put unique content on your own web pages. That's magic. It's best.
For link building, it just needs to be unique enough to be accepted by the sites you are posting it to. Some (like ezine) ask for very unique..or DO they. (no they don't, they ask that it is YOURS not that it is UNIQUE) see below...
Others - you can post the EXACT same article word for word.
"But it won't get indexed" - Yes it will. Check your competition for LT keywords you are putting up. WEB 2.0 is stuffed full of identical content. Often Page 1 of g$$gle has the same content on a URL ranking several times (Check this for yourself)
"But my site will be banned" How? It's not on your site in the first place. In fact the resource box, keywords and hypertext that points to your site will be the only unique things there.
"I'll get banned from the article, forum, comments. blog site" Mmm probably not, but maybe if you keep doing it. But so what? - this is BHW, set up a new account and go again.
Back to the 1 trillion point. Hope that's sunk in.
G$$gle has to index around 200 million new web pages a day.
It has to compare them with the content on the existing 1 TRILLION.
That's 200,000,000,000,000,000,000 comparisons a day (2 followed by 20 noughts)
There's probably a word for a number that big, but I'm fucked if I know what it is.
Do you think it goes to a page and thinks...
"Right, better compare this with page 1 of the internet
Is it the same or similar?
Nope that's fine..
Let's move on to page 2 of the internet..
(repeat x 1 TRILLION)"
Ok, that's a little simplistic. The search engines can narrow to topic pretty quick, but this often leaves tens of millions of pages to check against (type "Warcraft Leveling" or "Quick Weight Loss" in...)
G&&gle is through new content in a fraction of a tenth of a second.
Do you think it micro compares against all other content in that field?
Nope. Doesn't happen.
Unique content on your own landing pages is vital.
Unique content for web links is (almost) a myth.
Ezine for instance hava a plugin where you can turn your existing web pages into ezine articles WHICH THEY ARE HAPPY TO PUBLISH WORD FOR WORD - EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ON YOUR WEB SITE FIRST.
And that's ezine - the very tightest of tight article publishers
I have links of pure copied content. I get page rank and traffic from.
Over 300 websites built over a period of several years. It shows no sign of slowing down (quite the opposite in fact)
Uniqueness is probably in the "how much rank juice" algorithm somewhere, but it's not any where near as high as many like to think.
Please do your own research on popular phrases and see the exact same content rank HIGHLY over and over again.
