Yes as noted by T0mmy the darker meat is greasier and thus moister and has a texture more like fried chicken maybe. But the white meat is generally drier, unless cooked well.
My wife injects the turkey exactly 4,397 (or so it seems) times during the cooking process, lol. It usually comes out as moist as can be for turkey and is the best turkey I have had which still puts it below par of what I would readily eat more then once a year.
Typically though, unless deep fried, a oven cooked turkey has a light taste, lighter then chicken I think and is typically drier. Chicken is the closest readily available meat that I could name though. Eat a lot of cranberry salad/sauce with it and its edible/good/par.

I "baidu" the keyword and it says that turkey tastes like goose.
