How to write an article in the year 2012

Open with a section comparing the subject in question with something in the media or trending over Social platforms.

Include as many of the most imaginative metaphors as possible

End with a macabre sum up of all the crap you have already written.

As you would write an essay at school. Don't pay attention to keywords or density, you just write something quality for others to like.
 
Not sure you understood what I was talking about.

Perhaps I didn't give enough information, was talking about newspapers, magazines and online articles.

Okay so you were dismissed as being a noob dumbass, then I read your response and thought about it again, and you are exactly right. A formulated method 1) First connect topic to people via some superficial mention of social media (or whatever is current), 2) Use metaphors to create other connections with the read (it doesn't matter if the metaphors are useful to understanding the subject). 3) Recap what was just written so it sounds familiar to the people that just read it.

The point is to create some type of short-lived connection with the reader. It doesn't matter if any meaning or knowledge has been imparted.

So, Rep+ for a good insight, and sorry I didn't see the glint of intelligence on the 1st post.
 
Well, I'm not sure whether to be hurt or feel proud.

Either way, I'm sure that in the ninth hour of this job, my posts and even my brain tend to roll downhill.

I just want to know why there's been no evolution in the world of writing. It's all useless text that I tend to skim as the effort required to read does not equal the reward of having read the article.

I thought you meant SEO.. If you wanna write for magazines and newspappers then look up some guidelines online, there are tons of them.

I understand English is not the first language of many people here, but you really need to ensure you read the posts in the thread before replying again.

You really don't seem to understand what this thread is about, sorry.


It's my opinion on modern day media. To put it lightly.
 
Bonus points for tying in Facebook, Groupon, LinkedIn or Zynga stock. Use of official stock symbols reflects an in depth knowledge of the current dot com landscape.

Facebook stock articles need to be burnt before they are even finished.

They're all just re-written blurb, linked back to the one written before.


Tech orientated media has been diluted far too much, so hard to find interesting articles with fresh news, rather than another opinion from someone with scraped content.

So true, probably because nobody knows why facebook even exists (or what purpose it serves) in the first place.

I guess Once a company goes public everyone is given free rein to be an expert.

It's the first time most people have heard anything about the 'Stock Market' they get excited and start to write about it, with little to none experience with what's involved.

Implicitly, it sounds like you want to write an article in a year of high use of social media such as facebook...

In fact, the challenge is to write good but short articles quickly since it seems that pc/internet users don't read long articles....

If I am not wrong, the sort of article you are trying to write is the 'Diagnostic Approach':
1) Description of the existing cases
2) Previous consequences of these cases
3) Reasons of theses cases
4) Preconization of their uses
5) Future impacts

ps : I am a french native presently trying to become an english writer for my website (....2 hours for an article).

Well, I'd rather not read essays, nor some attempt at structure that turns into the same sort of story with just a different focus.
