How to warm up reddit accounts cleanly in 2026?

Means if you create accounts the right way you can do actions day 0 with no warmup needed
This goes against all I've seen on this forum + my own experience.

New accounts can barely send DMs and that's what I need. This only gets better after some warm up.

normal commenting for a few weeks, mixing different subreddits, and not dropping links at all at first. Once the account has history and karma, links stop getting nuked as fast. There is no quick win anymore, just patience and looking like a real user.

Hey GentlePimp,
You've got a solid start with your observations, but let's break it down further and see where the potential pitfalls might be.
1. VPN Usage: You're right about commercial VPNs like NordVPN being flagged. These are often used by many, making them a red flag for Reddit. Consider using residential proxies or mobile IPs instead, as they mimic genuine user behavior better.
2. Karma Accounts: You've noticed accounts with higher karma can send more DMs. But keep in mind, Reddit's algorithms are smart. They track not just karma, but also account age, activity diversity (not just DMing), and interaction quality. Are these accounts engaging in subreddits or just farming karma?
3. DM Limits: The drop-off you're seeing after the initial spam might not just be about weekly limits. Reddit could be detecting patterns in your activity. Are your messages diverse, or are they triggering spam filters even with spintax?
4. CQS Correlation: Content Quality Score could indeed play a role, but it's not just about how many DMs you send, but how recipients interact with them. Are you getting responses, or are they just being ignored or flagged?
5. Spintax and Patterns: Spintax is crucial, but it’s not just about avoiding copy-paste detection. Reddit might be looking at engagement rates and response patterns. How genuine do your messages come across?
6. IP and Machine Usage: Interesting that IP sharing doesn’t seem to matter unless a ban is involved. But you might want to test this more. Reddit could be flagging based on activity patterns long before a ban hits. Are you varying your activity types (e.g., upvoting, commenting)?
To hit your goal of 100 DMs on a fresh account, you need to think long-term and gradually scale activity. Create a persona for each account, engage in meaningful ways across Reddit to build a history, and avoid patterns that look automated. Also, consider staggering your DM activity across multiple accounts rather than hitting high numbers on single accounts. It’s all about looking human and being patient with the process.
Keep testing and refining your approach. Reddit's always changing its rules, so what works today might not tomorrow. Stay agile and good luck scaling!
