How to Vet Sellers

Even though I haven't posted in the WTB section, I've been checking the posts there and noticed they tend to get replies almost instantly. That leads me to suspect the responses might be automated. So, for anyone who has posted or purchased from there, how do you actually filter out the sellers who just want to make a quick buck with over-the-top promises and find the genuine ones with proven results to show?

I would not buy from anyone without JR VIP, dont buy from messages or TG, look if they have a sales thread here on BHW and then see their positive feedback and reviews. Be aware of members only joined last few years unless they have a bunch of positive feedback, and test small amounts and dont make a huge order that could have been broken into smaller or daily orders. Dont feel pressured, test some things out at your own pace!

One common red flag I see from running Disputes is Telegram. The seller tries (and is usually successful) to push the person to TG as quickly as possible. This way they can do their scam then delete the evidence. If someone isn't willing to have the bulk of the conversation in DMs here on BHW, then you may want to reconsider.

I've noticed that most of the screenshots from the dispute resolution are from Telegram, but I suppose TG is still acceptable for sellers whose marketplaces operate through Telegram bots, the bot API over there is really good.

this is some great info, thank you. I am planning on purchasing something and do not want to put my store in danger, will a keep a look out for only oldschool longterm jr vips with convo in PMs on this site...

i sold on bhw from 2009 - 2020 across 5 sales threads
in that time i had 0 refunds 0 issues BUT

1 - i never sold to 0 post members
2 - i never sold to new members
3 - i never sold to accounts inactive for yrs
4 - dont let members take you off site to buy
5 - sales via telegram = red flag

you will loose a few sales but have less issues
