There's no way of being 100% sure. You can check the User Agent, time spent on page, and the mouse movement behavior of each visitor to see if it resembles a human. Time spent on page and user agent will usually give you a pretty good reading. With a more advanced system like Google's they are able to compare each specific user's behavior because they have so many sign-ins, websites with adsense, and websites with Google analytics running on them.
Yea. A friend of mine also suggest to look at the bounce rate or using third party apps to look inside the traffic. But it will require the owner to install it on their site and I need to wait for a month or a week at least to get new insight on the traffic data. Should I be using this way, the owner might not willing to buy the apps and me myself need to buy it and get the owner installed it for free. So much problem since the media buying not even reaching a thousand bucks.
