How to Verify a Purchased Email List

Hello! I am looking to purchase a email list of about 10,000 for a specific niche. When I do match up with a seller, how can I go about verifying that their list is real, has the open rate they are advertising, and the CTR rate they are advertising?

I notice that people send these screen shots, but how do I know the actual emails in that list from the screen shot are the ones they are sending me? Is there a way I can ask for a quick test, list randomly have them select a couple hundred addresses and do a test run?

You will never know, how quality the mails are. Even if you ask for sample he can give you decent mails, but when you buy the rest of the package he may push the crappy ones. I do not know from where you are going to buy, but try to make your own due diligence about the seller. If you decide to buy from him, buy in small portions. If you cant gather much information about the seller, I will advice you to drop it.

Always enjoyable reading about the next person begging to be scammed. Are you serious? Buying leads of this nature is a ridiculous no-win situation. You are aware that marketing directly to a list you purchase this way is questionable legal, right? You can buy a business with an existing lead pool, but you can't buy a lead pool - unless those customers COMPLETELY know the nature of the list they are signing up for. Do people do this and make money? Sure! Are they breaking the law of every established nation on the planet? Yes! And most of the time they have no idea they are breaking the law because the true nature of the leads is NEVER revealed.

There are ways people get around this including disclosing the nature of the lead generation campaigns to possible prospects prior to them opting in. Since these leads know they may be contacted by third parties, or unaffiliated mailers - one can skirt the issues of spam. Most often the leads in these types of pools come from safe-lists, and they CAN be cross-targeted and sucked into legitimate lead channels. Most marketers don't do it that way though, and immediately attempt to spam these leads to death ignoring the importance of first impressions and building a relationship. This leads to low open rates, possible complaints, and other headaches in addition to being a really questionable approach to building a business relationship with a prospect.

Additionally, MANY of the leads suppliers for these don't disclose anything to the actual leads and in fact the leads originate generally 1 time with a legitimate opt-in somewhere that installs malware which continues to sign the same lead up into dozens of these types of programs - so the leads are often, fake, or otherwise low quality in addition to being a true spam situation since many of the leads are now part of a bigger automated scam.

The moral is ... don't buy leads - period, but if you're going to buy leads - be smart about it, and super diligent because approximately 90+% of your suppliers are going to be scamming deuchebags. That's all 100% true even though I know many people who do make money this way.

Any reputable data provider would be more than happy to send you a sample of their list before you purchased - I received a list of reputable data providers from Clickback that helped me out tremendously. I'd go check them out!

Don't buy a list, create a list.

Fuck email sellers they are assholes. The only emails I buy are from hacked db's from popular websites.
Even then I still get the emails verified!

If you want emails this is your best and cheapest option:

Use scrapebox or email harvester of your choice to get niche emails.
Aim to get a good 100-200k because a lot of them will be hard bounces.
Go on Freelancer.com find someone who will clean your email list.
Depending on the amount you can get it as cheap as 20c per 1k
