I want to use the email list in wordpress in such a way that subscriber are sent email about every new post on the blog. How is this possible? I actually created the list using a wordpress plugin.

FeedBurner is what you need. But creating a mailing list is very profitable, so try it. Go to aweber or mailchimp and check them out.
