How can I use a proxy for firefox? Whenever I would try it would also not be able to connect?

You just go into Options > Advanced > Network > Connection Settings Button, Change to Manual Configuration and put in the proxy details - IP and Port number in the corresponding boxes.

Always works when I do it that way, unless the proxy is dead.

Yup thts the way u can put proxy in firefox :D

Make sure you're using SOCKS proxy in the SOCKS box, and HTTP proxies in the HTTP ones.

Make sure the proxy isn't dead, use Charon to check. Pretty bloody simple.

hehe, alright...I will check it if he really needs me to...shouldn't have to though, people can check their own

I assume you are being sarcastic, but in case not: Charon is an old-school proxy checker program.

Firefox should have some kind of addon which can provide you with quick proxy switching. For example on Chrome, I have Proxy SwitchySharp. Search along the lines of Proxy Selector or Proxy Switcher.

You assume correctly :D Charon is a good program, used to use it all the time, not so much these days. People generally think thats why I chose my name, but it isn't...took it straight from the mythology :)
