Hi,
I was using the combination of VPN and Magic Submitter (recommended by MS).
Recently I am trying to use another piece of software (GSA) and I read on their thread somewhere using proxies is better.
(with VPN, while changing ips every few minutes, the software doesn't work properly etc.). But my question is when using backlinking software in general.

I have never used proxy, so I don't know how many to buy, how to use it etc.
For example, if you buy 10, do you put those proxies in the proxy box like using scrapebox (I just use free ones for Scrapbox)?

If so, how many do you need? 1 private proxy is like $2 or something and I am wondering how many you need to use. I also wonder how fast it(one proxy) gets banned. It is not that cheap thing to buy at least for me...

Thanks!

Use scrapebox for high pr blogs for backlinks. You can also scrape, test, and use public proxies with Scrapebox to use for other software. Hope this helps.

Thanks - but I heard that with public/free proxies the success rate will be low, so I have been more considering buying good ones - but I don't know much about it so I don't know how many to buy.

I've had a great success rate at times and other times, i've had a bad success rate. It's almost random. However, when you buy the private proxies, consider a few things.

1. How big of a campaign are you trying to do?
2. Do you need socks 4 or socks 5?
3. Does the proxy service you are buying the private proxies from, allow the proxies to be used with the software.

Well if you have to ask then you probably aren't doing anything on the large scale meaning you can get away with the basic package (10 proxies). This should be enough unless you plan to run many campaigns at once. Tho if you get 20 you're really fine. Just note that this almost entirely depends on what you want to do.

Thank you for your replies. I don't have many sites and I build tier1's by hands - but need to backlink those tier1 sites. I don't know what you consider a "large" campaign, but what I do now with Magic Submitter is
Tier1:Web 2.0 hand made 3-5
Tier2: Web 2.0 spun 30-40, bookmarks
Tier3: Profiles, articles, wikis, bookmarks, web2.0 (elgg, word press articles etc.)
Tier4: AA blog comments mostly

I repeat it. I hear a lot of good things about GSA so I'm considering trying it out.

I don't know the difference between socket 4 and 5 - though proxy services I check out is on this forum so allowing to use in software should be fine :)
