Just created a sitemap, now I'm told I have to upload it into the domain root folder of my site.
What exactly is a domain root folder, and please can you explain how do I upload the sitemap into it?

On your website server you can upload. To do this you need to have FTP access of your website. Access your web-server via FTP (Filezila) and find where your website pages are located and upload sitemap files aside there.

It's really site map.xml you want (if your submitting to google).

Your root folder is where you would have installed / uploaded your site in the first place.

It's normally in public_html or httpdocs folder, or sometimes literally the first place you see when you log into your FTP account.

If you use Wordpress its where you'll see index.php, WP-config.php, wp-content and so on.

You'll know if you done it correctly as you'll be able to access the site map by browsing to yoursite.com/sitemap.xml in your Internet browser.

you can use a plugin if you're using wordpress. Its called sitemap generator.

If its not wordpress, then you'll need to create an ftp account from your cpanel. Download filezilla. Login using the ftp details you got from cpanel. Upload your file on the first window. Done

Log into your c panel and click on file manager - you can upload your site map there...or just use FTP. If you're using Wordpress, just use the plugin "Google XML sitemap". Good luck!

Goto > control panel > public_html folder > upload your sitemap file.
