My Contabo VPS is on Windows server 2012 RE. But I have an application that requires Windows 10 only to work.

Is there a way I can update/change the 2012 to Win10 or WinServer 2022 (I learnt it has Win 10 inside of it)

Thanks

So because you're using a license provided by Contabo you'll need to contact them if you'd like to upgrade/change the server version from 2012 to 2022. I would like to think they'd be able to do the upgrade for you but you'll probably have to pay a little more as the license for 2022 is a bit more than the one for 2012.

I already contacted them. Buy Contabo support is one of the worst, never reply on time

Yup. You get what you pay for with contabo. Over-crowded servers on old hardware with shotty support (not to mention the random risk of them straight up wiping your data followed by a "oops, there was a hardware failure, hope you had external backups, my bad" msg. It's why you get so much ram, so cheaply. Best of luck (because of the way windows licenses their server software you literally need them if you want to upgrade it).

Can you suggest a better VPS (not too pricey)? You can inbox if it's not allowed publicly

I don't know if this would be breaking the rules because I have literally nothing to do with the hosting company but greencloudvps has been a pretty good host for me and a grip of others that I know. I've only used their linux vps's (a cheap "budget" vps for scripts/random self-hosted stuff & a beefier/faster one for two high-traffic sites) but the quality of hardware + network is A+. They have a bunch of different windows options though including "seo optimized" ones geared towards running stuff like scrapebox. One again, I have never used a windows vps from them, but can vouch for their linux offerings.

you can try petrosky.io they offer windows 2022 optimized
