I have a website (woocommerce) in English.
I want to translate the website to French on another domain.
I want to link back to the English website to generate sales.

How can I do this? Automated preferably.

As pointed out above you can use WP plugins for that, WPML can do the work,
You can either clone the English website, translate it, then link it to the English via WPML, or translate posts directly via WPML

Please us Translate Plugins. It might make your work bit easier

Use the WPML plugin to translate the site.

You can use plugins like WPML, Polylang, or TranslatePress to translate the site.

Use a plugin like WPML or Weglot to automatically translate your WooCommerce site to French on a separate domain, and set up backlinks to the English site for generating sales.

I have found Weglot has by far the best automatic translation (you can also override them manually) and has the simplest interface to use, however it can be extremely expensive if you have to translate a big amount of words (which WooCommerce store probably has to).

If money is no issue, definitely give it a try - I believe they have a free trial as well.

Use plugins like WPML or TranslatePress to translate it.

Use 301 redirection. Also in search console use website change.

Use a plugin like WPML or Polylang to translate your WooCommerce site into French automatically and set it up on a new domain. Add a language switcher and link the French site back to the English one. Optimize with Hreflang tags and good URLs, then test and monitor to boost traffic and sales.

but why build another site on fresh domain? You will need to then build its authority and thats another site to look after. Why not just use a country specific subfolder and then you get to enjoy the domain authority on the new language subfolder?

To translate an entire website to another domain, you can use a website translation tool or plugin like WPML (for WordPress) or Weglot. These tools automatically translate your site’s content and allow you to set up a separate domain or subdomain for the translated version. After setting it up, ensure the translated content is optimized for SEO and linked correctly between the original and translated sites.
