    Hi there,

I'd created a WP blog with various content but had to change hosts quite suddenly, and I backed up the database through PHPMyAdmin because I read that I could transfer everything across to my new host. However now that my domain's nameservers are changed to the new host, I've reinstalled WP on a new database but can't figure out how I can import the database so the blog looks like it did on the original host?

    Can anyone advise me?

    Thanks

You shouldn't Reinstall wordpress on new host, instead you should backup all files(better zip them all) and upload it to your new host. Then you can simply create a DB on new host & import the Backup'd Database through PHPMyAdmin and enter new DB's name, username, password in wp-config and you're ready to Go!

Here is the Detailed Instructions on how to Transfer Wordpress to New host

    Code:

Or just do it the easy way and get a free account at http://managewp.com.

It takes about 10 minutes in all to create a new database at your new hosting account, install worker plugin and perfectly clone your old wordpress website to your new hosting account .. all ready to go on with your life .. =)

Trust me, there is no easier way to do it .. i´ve done hundreds of wp transfers this way .. =)

Opps .. Just read your text again and saw that your not on your old host anymore .. Sorry .. But if you have your wp up and running on ip/temp in your old host then this is the easy way else you got to do it as the post above mine .. =)
