I've a website that I set up years ago when I was really new to making websites etc. Because of this I hosted it on 000webhost or something like that since it was free (lol).

Now I've the unlimited package on hostgator and have set up 3 websites using the wordpress installer.

But how do I transfer my old site from 000webhost to Hostgator...

The site was built by just using simple HTML.

Is it as easy as change the domains nameservers and move the files through FTP ?

But how do I do this through hostgator?

Ask hostgator customer support. Give them your current server access where this site is hosted and ask them to FTP the same to your hostgator server and at the same time change the nameservers of your domain and point those to hostgator server.

I knew hostgator support was good but are they really that good :) ? Very nice if they are....

Contacted hostgator and they kinda got confused by what I wanted :/

Then they said they would do it but for an hourly fee :S

Anyone know how to do this manually myself ? Surely it can't
Be that hard

If its just simple html I would just download then upload everything with ftp.
Change the domain to point to your new hosts.

It should only take 5-10 mins

That's what I thought. Would it be something like this ? :

Download all HTML files from current site

Change nameservers on the site I have the domain with to my hostgator nameservers

Addon domain ??? (on hostgator cpanel)

Then use FTP to move the Files back onto it ?

Just confused about the adding domain part though.

And for some reason I can log into my old hosts account but can't get in via filezilla! :/

I am still struggling with Hostgator. You had better do this right the first time. You cannot depend on them. Most of the support (including managers) have their head up their as. I am amazed at how stupid they are. I am actively looking for a new hosting service. 8 months fighting with them about how they messed up all my website...a huge lost... And don't thing Hostmonster is any better..they do not back up files...they tole me to back up my as having them do something to my files.....THEY DELETED ALL OF MY CONTENT! Oh I am sorry Sir I deleted them by mistake...

Some manager there said he would give me 50% commission since I was an affiliate....Oh I am going to promote one of the worst Hosting companies on the Internet...

Sorry I don't want to take over this thread. Just make sure you know what the hell you are doing or you will pay big time for any mistakes.
