How to transfer a website?

So, like the title says it, I wanna know how exactly to transfer website and domain to someone else.
When I sell site, and make a deal, how to transfer it technically?

i do not have much knowledge about it as well, but i think you need to transfer the domain to the buyers domain account. and zip you website and send it to the buyer. so that he can host it.
Please correct me if i am wrong...

there should be a backup function in your cpanel/webmin/whatever panel you have. you could give them that and it would be easier for them to set up the site.

it should be simple... go to the cpanel... click on "backup wizard" create a full backup n send it to the new owner...

then he will just upload the backup on the new cpanel... n tadaa! ur site is running on the new server!

change the nameservers on where u bought the domain or transfer or whatever... it was kinda basic... but i just felt like helpin...

It is very simple if the site is html. Just zip up everything and give it to the new buyer.

If it is wp there is an additional step which is complicated if you never did it before. You need to copy the mysql database in phpadmin and then change the wp-config.php file to match the new host. More often than not the buyer will not know how to do this so you know how to. It isn't that hard after you did it a few times but many sellers get reseller accounts so they don't have to mess with this.

Yeah, ok, one site is article directory so it has database that needs to be transfered, but i believe i know how to do that.. Anyway, thank you all.
