HI

I always share my blog post to my twitter profile. To track i always create shorten url & i easily get 10-20 RT for my each post & around 200-300 Clicks.

When it comes to Google Analytics it only shows me 5-10 clicks. What i should do to track twitter traffic to my Google Analytic account.

Your views will be appreciated

Thanks

you have to try "WP To Twitter" plugin if you are using WP which automatically posts your post to twitter.

And you have a option to choose your own url shorteners like bit.ly there you will need a bit.ly API code to get it working.

Then bit.ly will track all the clicks from the dashboard. You will be able to track countries from whre clicks come too.

If you're looking for "referers" from twitter, you're not going to get the full picture.

Most people use twitter dashboards like tweetdeck or seesmic - thus their clicks will show up as "direct" and not have a referer.

The best option is to use a URL shortener that allows you to see stats. I use tiny.tw since putting /stats at the end of any URL lets me see the stats.

Google analystics has never tracked the traffic I've been getting from Twitter, but StatPress has been, I run both so I know how much traffic I am really getting and how much google sees as traffic.

If I use the "WP to Twitter" are you saying ONLY my WP posts will go to Twitter?

I use Bit.ly sidebar to push content to Twitter & Facebook and since I use Firefox, Bitly shows me the # of clicks but NOT where the clicks came from unless I got to Bitly and drill down on each shortened URL.
