Hello,
Been a while since I sold my last website. I am planning to put 4 hours a day in a new website that I've been planning to start for a month. I am not going to sell this website, just gonna work hard and establish another income source. My question is, what is the best (and free) way to track where exactly the website stands in terms of SEO over time? Because unless I see where its going, there would be no way to make a plan for it.

To track your search engine rankings I suggest using serpbook.com

This is what I use: smallseotools.com/keyword-position/

The best tool for this is serpbook.com .If you have less than 10 keywords, you can use serpfox for free.

Check in serpbook.com or in semrush.com

You can use free tools like google analytics, bevomedia. they will do the trick for tracking a/b testing and documant shares and videos.

As for tracking ranks. you can use spyfu(Live Weekly Rankings), serpiq, traffic travis...

I personally use SerpBook for all of my SEO clients' reports.

I'm using the free plans from SERPfox and Micrositemasters. They seem very accurate to me.

I'm using Microsite Masters. It can track multiple projects and enables easy access to the ranking results for each keywords and sites on Google, Bing and Yahoo. I find it more precise and reliable than other tracking tools.

Rankerizer is free. But when your budget allows you should try out Microsite Masters.
