Good day guys. Pls is there a sure way to locate the whereabouts of my sister's stolen phone? A burglar broke my window today and flee with my sister's phone. How can I get it back? Law Enforcement agents in my country would charge the money I don't have before they can help.

If her phone is a smartphone chances are there should be find my phone app integrated into it, even on android, any brand like Samsung, MI, and a bunch of others.

You just gotta log into the account from you laptop and disable the phone I guess, if they have tracking feature good for you.

Other than that, I do not see way to recover the phone for free

You need a gmail to use the phone so you just use the Gmail or google account and trace it.

How does this work if the phone is factory reset or wiped ? Would the google account be removed and leave no trace of the previous google account?

A new account could then be created on the phone leaving no trace of previous.

1. If the phone is connected to a gmail account, then it's impossible to wipe out the phone.

2. If there is any connectivity available, use Google's device manager or whatever it is called

3. It will give you the last known location

If the phone is protected by any form of security (hopefully), then if you reset your pin, it will ask you to login in the main gmail account of the phone.

Even if you login, you'll be forced to wipe out the phone

iOS isn't the only os with security ;)

no the thief can't use your phone if it's protected

Also, yes it's impossible to wipe out the phone since pin reset is no longer there

do u mean its impossible to wipe out the phone, so does that mean the thief will have access to the phone with the old data?

he has your phone. Think about it, if it has your pin and the thief doesn't know your pin, how will he use your phone? He can't thus he can't see your data unless he unlocks your phone

Joins the forum last week and wants to know how to track his lost phone epic just epic

You're drivin' me crazy.
Android phones, even with pins/passwords, CAN be wiped out EASILY by booting the phone in Recovery Mode.

The ONLY thing you can try is this:
  • Log into your sister's gmail account (the same that was on the phone)
  • Go here: https://myaccount.google.com/find-your-phone
You'll then find your sister's phone there, but you can track it only if it's ON both the phone and the GPS.

(There's also other features that Google offers like sign out of account but if the phone had a PIN / Password then it's totally useless)
