How to take down a defamatory page in facebook?

Hi,

My company has a good facebook fanpage and a very good reputation in my country (Brazil). Someone opened a defamatory fan page and I'm trying to take it down with no success, reported it myself and asked many friends to report it too. The page is annonymous, don't have a single post or image just a defamatory title and a small text, and this page appears second in google when I search for my company... a better result than the official page.

Any advices or help to take it down?

I would assume sending a cease and desist for libel reasons from a legal professional could work, at least if that cease and desist is sent from a country with strong libel laws, and it is addressed to the Facebook commercial entity in that country.

Do keep me posted if you take this road. I am very interested to hear about your progress, or lack thereof.

I'm trying to remove it via intelectual property, I'm the legal owner of the brand and the name, including the variation they used it the page. But it has been some days and I'm still waiting an response.

It takes time to get a response. Just sit tight.

That would be my advice. And as evilclown already noted, it usually takes time, but it's the most effective way.
