How to Succeed on UpWork as a Client

Could you share some example of templates/work job you use to hire people ?
What kind of job "work" to hire on UpWork ? Because I tried some T-shirt designing and I had a real bad experience with more than 10 Freelancers. Surprisingly, when I went to higher paid freelancers, the job was perfectly done, fast and they understood what I wanted ( I thought I was the stupid one when it didn't work with 10 of them ), but of course on the long run it wouldn't match my budget to work with higher paid freelancer ...

This is true, i used to build mindmaps for my projects, and got charged expensive amounts from freelancers, now i do breakdown each task to mini ones and outsource each one to different workers, even on the same skillset, that's almost 50% off my past invoices.

Something else i'd like to ask you about, does your team work for your own projects or your company/clients ? this also make a big difference when dealing with freelancers.

I had experience with design worker where my first 3 projects/works were done perfectly, but 4th project didn’t work at all, which was surprising. I wasn’t happy with the result and couldn’t use it. But I still use the other 3!

Design projects do cost more and a bit more tricky. I do have number of projects related to website designing, I have one person that does them all. It’s not very cheap, but it’s the quality that I need.

Most of the work is either technical or managerial.

Mostly for own projects, but I have some projects I found via LinkedIn that I fully outsourced to my Upwork team. Approach is pretty much the same, but if deadlines involved, I give workers half time so there is extra time to re-do if necessary.

Building mind maps and action plans e.g. in this case you do this and in that case you do that very useful to run any process and help workers to understand how to act in every situation.
