So you do realize that data about us and out efforts can be leaked. For instance, I want to promote cigars, I go to amazon and look up cigars, blam They know I am going to make a cigar website and they know my name and everything :eek:I go to google and do keywords reserch they match my IP to the youtube video I embeded onto my website BLAM they know every website I own, they also know what I been doing on youtube looking up and everything. My online reputation is instantly thwarted and my reputation is tarnished. How can I combat this you guys?

Well, the internet doesn't really work like that. Although each website theoretically will log your IP address, amazon would not pass your information to ebay, etc, etc. Yes doing google searches will show sites like amazon if they were referred by google but what you are talking about is remaining anonymous on the internet for everything you do.

What direction you take really depends on what your motives are. Do you want to remain anonymous because you fear that google will ban your sites or your IP address?

As sophisticated as google is and needless to say they have the capability to track you from service to service, you have to remember that their model is predominantly made on making money through ads, therefore they harness their energy in tracking your spending patterns, sites you go to , etc, etc all in the name of revenue.

To answer your question on anonymity would really depend on why you want to do this? What is your purpose.

Use proxies when you do your keyword research and get a few pva google accounts in fake names. Then, clear your browser cookies between site visits and have different browers for different uses (firefox, chrome, opera, safari plus portable versions x as many as you like).

You can also try RoyalVPN, a virtual network registered in the Netherlands for private browsing

As as added measure, use non-google search engines (I hear there are some).

The "internet" only know what you tell it.

p.s. these are methods for safe browsing and research, NOT illegal activity. If you're doing something wrong, there are other ways to get found out.

You combat it with a little less tin foil and more common sense.
