How to steal competitor backlinks?

I analyzed a competitor's website using SEMrush and exported the data in order to create backlinks for my own website. However, after spending 4 hours on this, I didn't find a single backlink from there. Can you please suggest the best method that you guys use to "steal" competitor's website backlinks?

How can you not find a single backlink of your competitor and that too from SEMRush? That seems impossible to me.

I expect that he was looking for free links.

Or their competitors are so weak that they don't have any worthy links to be done, hence, and only in this case

Just build any link anywhere that has certain degree of topicality with your site.

It doesn't mean that competitor don't have single backlink. I am unable to create backlink on those website from where my competitor getting backlinks.

Yes, you are right I was looking for free backlinks because my client don't want to invest on guest posts, niche edits, out reach, press release, etc backlinks. So I have to create free backlinks but it is consuming my time.

Oh. That's a real deal. You may have to pay for guest posting to create such backlinks or some websites may have stopped accepting more links.

Is there any method to get free backlinks? Any technique to find free backlinks using SEmrush?
 
You have to create a list and reach out to those site owners to qualify for a backlink
Just analyze multiple competitors
