How to start with SEO?

Hello,

Our company follows a really specific niche and we would like to rank on Google, however, I'm a bit lost as there is just too much information which I don't know if it's still valid or not.
I'm aware that blog(s) help a lot with ranking, however, if those blogs start out of nowhere, won't they be in the same position as the original site?
I saw that there are few tools that help to rank sites up by making what seems to be networks of blogs? I'm talking about:
- MoneyRobot
- GSA Ser ( I tried it, seemed SUPER complex ).
- RankerX
I had 2-3 free weeks of the premium trial of MoneyRobot, however, I feel like its a bit "placebo" effect, it creates all these blogs that are made on the very same sites and I doubt have any real traffic.
Also, if those created blogs are made to help indexing, will casual visitors eventually see them? It is really ugly to look for a site and find 200x botted blogs.
At the same time, I saw that there are many services here in the forum, those that provide refunds if no result, are those terms legit usually? What I would be afraid of is spending quite a bit of money to see zero results.
Also, I did read something about "bad" services which end up ruining the whole campaigns you had, is that common?
Hopefully, somebody has the time to help me a bit .

First, learn the basics. Don't buy any tools because they won't help you especially if you don't know what you are doing. Read about on page SEO, make it perfect then you can slowly build your first links. You can start with web 2.0s they are probably the safest links you can create and they have some power but like I said - you have to learn basics first and this forum is perfect for that.

However, if I make the web 2.0, how will they receive traffic out of nowhere? How will google crawlers reach my page? Aren't references from existing and indexed sites always needed to be found by google?

Web 2.0s rarely get organic traffic(but it is possible), you build them to rank your money site on google. Yes, they have to be found by Google. Google needs to index it in order to give a boost to your website. There are a few ways to 'inform' Google about new web 2.0 - social signals, creating backlinks to that web 2.0, buying/scraping expired web 2.0s.

I wouldn't use any of those tools for WH projects. If you have some funds, pay an SEO expert a consulting fee to give you a push in the right direction.

I see, thank you a lot for the information. Our website sells software, therefore what I care about the most is organic traffic, we won't run ads on the website, neither we care that much about the number of visitors but the people that found us due to very specific keywords (potential buyers). However, I'm a bit concerned because Google says that the terms we use have "no information to display" yet when you search competitors directly, you see them have a decent amount of traffic.
Those competitors have been in the market from a really long time and I have no idea what keywords they use that have that much traffic.
Example from a competitor (probably the bigger one):

I must say that many of the backlinks displayed are dead, the backlinks may still be up but redirect to something totally different.
After we have done our optimizations, on-page SEO and have a basic blog, would it be best to hire a service?

Is there any way to differentiate between whitehat and blackhat services? I would be truly interested in a consulting.

Buy few web 2.0 and start building links when you're done with content.

Read up on this forum and some SEO blogs for a week or so and you should get a better idea. There's a lot of knowledgeable people on this forum, so try posting in the HAF section once you get a better understanding. Upwork would be a good option too.

Spend enough time here and you will start to know bit by bit.
