Although you spelled white hat as white hate, I'm going to assume that you're talking about white hat SEO.

If you're starting a new website in a completely white hat way, there's the easy way and the hard way.

The hard way is of course to come up with something new and research your keywords, and then put up content and see what works.

You call this the "throwing spaghetti at the wall" technique.

9 times out of 10, you're gonna miss and the pasta will just bounce off the wall.

But 10% of the time, something will stick, and it becomes your job to figure out why it stuck and when and how.

If you're looking for a better and easier set of problems to confront, I suggest doing things the easy way.

The way to do this is to reverse-engineer your competition.

Here are the steps.

First, figure out the niche that you want to be in.

I know a lot of people focus on the bottom line and how much money they're going to make.

Fair enough!

So look at the commercial value of the keywords related to that niche.

You can easily find this using Google's Keyword Planner tool.

Pay close attention to their CPC rates.

Although you're probably not gonna get that rate, the fact that there's a tremendous amount of dollars being spent on clicks for keywords related to a certain niche tells you everything you need to know about the commercial value of that niche.

Now the next step is to come up with a sub-niche.

These are subsets of problems or themes that the main niche covers.

You need to do this because if you don't find a sub-niche, you're basically going to jump into the broader niche as a newbie with very little cash only to get annihilated.

Not a good strategy!

So come up with a sub-niche, and then search for those sub-niches.

Target keywords again using the Google Keyword Planner tool and pay attention to the results.

What kind of websites show up?

Now scrap their domains and enter them into a paid SEO tool like Semrush or Ahrefs.

It really doesn't matter.

You will then see their organic keywords.

Rank those keywords in terms of keyword difficulty.

The next step is crucial.

Once you have a list of low-difficulty keywords, critically (and I mean this with all seriousness) determine if those keywords are truly related to your sub-niche.

If they are, put them on a list and then look at the sites that they pull up when you search for them on Google.

This is all you need to reverse-engineer those sites because they are easier to rank and they are already giving you the content.

I'm not talking about scraping those pieces of content or mindlessly rewriting them.

I'm talking about improving upon them.

How can you improve on your competitors' content?

Your content can be more comprehensive, meaning people only need to search for your content to get everything they need to know about their keyword query.

The next thing that you could do is to make sure that your content is up to date.

Third, it has to be very easy to read.

I'm talking about short paragraphs, lots of headings, and good copywriting.

Fourth, include multimedia.

Maybe people prefer infographics.

Maybe they prefer videos or images.

Whatever they prefer, give it to them.

By using these strategies and interlinking in a smart way, you will be able to rank some of these easier-to-rank keywords and then get enough domain authority to start running after more competitive niche key phrases or keywords.
