Hi guys,
Do you guys have any experiences making $$ with Free Android Apps?
I'm a little bit confused with the method to earn from it.
Should I make a mobile website, and then signed up on mobile CPA (OfferMobi, etc) ?

A response would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

I am skittle confused as to what you are asking here. Are you looking to promote other people's apps or is it your own app that is free that you are looking to make money from?

you want to develop free android apps and monetize them?
just sign up something like admob and insert ads into your apps, and airpush for more revenue

I'm sorry for the unclear question. And yes, for now I want to promote other people's apps since I don't know how to develop and android apps by myself. Can you give me a suggestion where or how I could start ? Or I should develop my own apps for it ?
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks

I would say that you have 2 massive players in the app world (I could be wrong though). That is The Google Play (aka:Android Marketplace) and the App Store. Then you have the amazon marketplace (which I have no experience with so I can't speak for that market).

Android

This is a great place to start testing the waters of app development because of the following:
- Free to submit apps
- Apps hit the market place incredibly quickly after you push them to the marketplace
- Can develop apps on any machine
- You have to market your app and get it out there in front of your audience from the get-go
- In September they had their 25 BILLIONth download (not sure where this is at today)

Apple
The app store is another great place to put apps out there but you have to pay to play; But it does have a few advantages that the Android marketplace doesn't; Although this may be changing with the new app store designs.
- $100 To submit apps to apple
- Must have a Mac to develop (I'm sure that there is a hack to this somewhere, but they really push for you to use a mac)
- When your app passes the review process (typically 5-10 days) your app will go into a "What's New" section which generates downloads and visibility for a short time for your app
- Apple recently celebrated its 50 BILLIONth app download

As far as apps to create. It is just like IM; Pick something that you are interested in and build it. Don't do a flashlight though because there are a million out there lol.

If you are looking to promote other peoples apps check out sites like: http://greatapps.com they contacted me a little bit ago and had a price point of $500 for them to put my app on their website for a year. So there are ways to promote other peoples apps you just have to add your own spin. Good luck.

Create a single wordpress page ,categorise the apps ..
Start writing articles why these apps are so good :)
Add some google ads and vouala !

You can use a game engine like Unity 3d to publish your code to both android and ios. They also have an asset store where users can buy/sell assets like code, models, textures, example games, etc. There are several plugins for adding ad networks or in app billing with just a couple lines of code. The basic licenses are free for both android and ios, but you have to have a mac to make ios games.

You can try using admobile for free apps with android. That way you can make money with free app. I tryed to implement this once in my app, but my boss told us to not use it since it would be anoying for the users and he didnt want to make money in this free app we developed anyway...

Thats soo simple it actually converts if you know how to through your users into the right FUNNEL

Hi BHW,

My name is Nick and I am part of the publisher solutions team at Airpush. Just wanted to let everybody know if you have any issues, questions or concerns about integrating with us. We are the largest android only mobile ad network. We have the highest fill rates and average CPMs in the industry, and we can also pay our developers weekly. PM me if you want to chat!

Thanks!

this was an old thread... Bumping it was not necessary.

Well, I wonder why no one has mentioned Adsense inside the Android apps? I ask because my son had that question to me just 3-4 days ago and he has created some android apps, both for his company's overseas clients (a few apps only here), and for his own use as well. So any inputs on Adsense within Android apps? Please :)

Anyway, I had lost my Ads account many years ago due to a little foolishness (clicking my own ads!!!) lol. I am sorry I did that because now I could also have benefited from my son's work (jk). ;)

A little wrong side of 50 :)

Id suggest creating a few apps, push them into the play store, see which app is the best then focus all of your investment on that app and once you have 5k+ downloads then start thinking about monetising it. If you try to monetise a new app it won't get many downloads.
