I've been trying to look for niches the past few days when I get the inspiration, but I can never successfully land on a niche that's low competition, decent cpc, decent amount of traffic.

Any tips would be great on what's the best direction to go.

Thanks.

start with areas your interested in and build off from there, if you like sports look around in that area, if you new to stuff then start small, your not going to land a gold mine your first time around. find something that gets a few K searches and build a micro site around it, and get a little cash flow started. once you keep doing it, finding niches will come naturally and be alot easier.

You could have a look through Yahoo Directory. Clicking on something like "Health" can weild a lot of results and ideas for microniches.

Google Keyword Tool will get you your microniches. All you need are a couple main keywords or topics

Hey Pulpf, i only started seo a few weeks back but i found finding a niche the most diffcult thing to learn,

one of the things that helps me the most is by checking up on amazon bestsellers,

pick any catagory randomly and go through the list copying the product name in to google keyword tool,

when you find a keyword with atleast 1000 searchs check the competion if you think it will be easy to rank for your good to go,

but dont just build a site round that one product make a main site that reviews diffrent items of the same kind eg,

you find a keyword like LEGO Harry Potter 4866: The Knight Bus easy to rank for dont focus the site on that one product build the site around Lego harry potter items,

hope that helps,

Thanks :) Think I've read some, but will have another look.

Thanks a lot man, you've also given me some idea on how to build my site. So the idea around this would to have Amazon affiliate links selling the product? Or would you just stick adsense up there, alongside some CPA offers they may be interested in?

Also - whenever searching something that's on Amazon, I always find that Amazon is at the top for the keyword? Can I still beat them?

It's very easy. Just open a dictionnary and pick a word. Any word.
Now, the more other words you add to it, the more targeted the niche, the less traffic and searches.
An example:
Bee
Bee's honey
Making bee's honey
Making bee's honey in the Andes
How to make bee's honey in the Andes
How to make bee's honey in the oriental Andes
How to make bee's orange honey in the oriental Andes
How to make homosexual bee's orange honey in the oriental Andes
How to make money selling homosexual bee's orange honey in the oriental Andes

What topics are you interested in anyway? sports, medicine?

For me personally, I play guitar, and produce a bit of dubstep, so there's a couple of things. I also like a bit of gardening, smoking a bit of herb (would be sweet to get a niche in this! Haha).

Haha, thanks! This part I don't find so hard, it's finding a keyword that's not going to waste me time as it's low profit etc.

no problem mate :),

I use adsense and amazon affiliate links but i suppose you could use cpa offers aswell if you can find some that can fit in to the site and get good conversions,

I Find amazon quite easy to beat just needs extra content and backlinks, if your using spun content to submit to article directories instead of spinning each word spin each sentence 4-6 times.

I posted an end to end example of finding a niche using amazon on my blog here: http://www.nofussinternetmarketing....t-Samurai-Find-Profitable-Keywords-Today.aspx look at the last video on that page.

Yeah, I guess it's just judging and testing what's right.

Thanks.

Use this shortcut: Stealth Keyword Competition Analyzer
There's an indicator (Amazing, Good, Bad, Terrible) so you can easily choose your keyword.
