How to Speed up a Vnc Connection?

hi

ill be away for a few days and will vnc into my computer from an

ipod touch i have tightvnc on computer and im using itelport vnc connect and rdp

connect (on ipod touch) but refresh rate is very slow

is there any way to turbo charge the refresh rate ? Is it possible to make it instant?
