The Youtube algorithm is not the same as google. If you want to get rank on google backlink will help, but it won't give desired results on youtube. You can embed videos in your blog then create a backlink for your blog instead of giving a direct link to your channel. Instead of trying out backlinks you can go for social media engagements.
