How to set up a proxy in your browser

Hi,

Thanks to share this information. I use your Fire Fox information its great.

I basically use Google Chrome for proxy changes.

You leave its method. Well I write it.

Method of Google Chrome Proxy Change:


  1. "Run" Google Chrome
  2. Goto "Wrench" icon and Click over it.
  3. The drop down list is open, Select "Options" from the list.
  4. The options window will appear.
  5. On left hand side click on "UNDER THE BONNET" Option.
  6. Now Click on the "Change Proxy Settings" button.
  7. The Dialogue Box will appear.
  8. Now Click on "Connections" Tab.
  9. Now Click on "LAN Settings" Button.
  10. Now Check the Check Box saying "Use the proxy server for your LAN"
  11. After this Write your Proxy Address on the Adress Box and Port on the Port Box.
  12. ChecK the Check box saying "Bypass Proxy Server For Local Address".
  13. Click "OK"
  14. Again click "OK"
  15. Now you have a changed proxy on your Google Chrome.

But I am not able to get any full time working Proxies. Most of them are not working.
 
Thanks for the useful proxy sites.One question I would ask from you can you provide a proxy site for facebook.
 
There are proxies and proxies. There are the standard proxies, that send some additional information (headers) to the web server, and that's why whatismyip detects that you're behind one of those, and there are high anonymity proxies that mask all of your communication with the web server as it was its own. That's what you need, however high anonymity proxies are usually not free.

You can set your own high anonymity proxy if you have the resources necessary to rent a remote server somewhere in the www, and some routable IP's.

I tried to setup proxy in my firefox 3.0.17 BUT everytime I was caught. For example, I went to whatismyip and it says you have proxy server or suspected proxy or something like that detected. I also tried to visit some sites like facebook and they also did not open saying that your network policy does not allow to access this site. I tried to change the proxies 5-6 times and everytime I got the same result. (I already checked the proxies before setting up in my browser and they were working fine)

Can someone point me to right direction? Im unable to understand as what exactly Im doing wrong?

can someone tell me how to use proxy with chrome and firefox. Problem is, my proxy got username,password.

I have two questions:
1. there is an option in chrome to use proxy? if there is, could u tell me?
2. if I delete all the cookies from the firefox and usually I surf on chrome then I surf with the proxy in firefox as your guide says, they will not be able to have access to my chrome cookies?
