do some jobs:
1. submit ur site to social bookmarking sites (to make ur site index faster)
2. set a good and unique description of ur blog with good keyword combination
3.also try to spend some time for keyword reseach
4.use tools for backlinks
5. write some articles , submit to other article directory
6. make some free sites in hubpages,squidoo and wordpress.com with seo tricks ..then backlink to ur blog
7.make ur site on good niche..
8.alos submit ur rss to rss directory using some tools (check download section)

You do know that all your SEO efforts are going into promoting a blog that is not even yours. If blogspot decides that they no longer like it, that would be it. Get yourself a domain name + hosting. For around $30/year anyone should be able to afford it.

Get some backlinks and ping your site. You should also consider buying a real domain name like others have suggested.
