How to SEO for a local social / information site?

Hey,

I have developed a site just for my city, mainly based on a social network but also with local information, attractions, updated events, classifieds etc..

I mainly want to do SEO for the social network that will keep people coming back, but very hard to compete with Facebook.

I just want to focus on the local aspect, anyone have any ideas?

Use cititations for local Seo. As well as all the other works. Don't change it to much, instead alter your keywords to local keywords and use cititations.
