How do Indians here send and receive payments? I have PayPal but haven't really used it in a long time. And I remember I couldn't pay with PayPal once when I tried.
And I cannot keep using my dad's credit card always.
I think I'll make a new PayPal account but I cannot get a credit card, I'm a college student. I'll link it with a debit card.
So what's the difference between credit card linked PayPal and debit card linked PayPal. Can I pay with debit card linked PayPal?
And are there any Indian specific PayPal rules?

Sorry if I sound completely dumb

You can receive payments without any cards- simply by using Bank account.
To pay you don't need credit card- ICICI chip based intl debit card, Axis, HDFC and recently SBI cards too work.

I believe Paypal is easier and safer compare to entering Credit/Debit card details every time when you pay for any services. Just verify your Paypal account with required documents like PAN, add your bank ac no. your debit card details. BOI, ICICI cards works good for me.

For Indian payments, you can use normal bank deposits. Paypal isn't necessary.

You can not use PayPal for payments to and from people living in India. You can use online gateways like ccavenue which can work for receiving payments locally as well as globally.

I believe PayPal is one of the best way to transfer or receive money.

What if I want to receive payments from instagram users(most of them based in us)?

I believe that paypal is the best way to get money from foreign countries. For to get payments you don't need a Credit/debit cards, linking your bank account is enough. But for to make payments/purchases the cards are comes in to play.

Debit cards from HDFC Bank and Axis Bank are allowed to do payments/purchases through paypal (i recently inquired paypal) . But the card must be a chip card and activated with international usage.

What about SBI bank?

If you want to send and receive amount in a same country you cannot use paypal, instead you can use bank accounts. With the help of net banking by using NEFT, IMPS you can transfer money easily.

Okay. I read a lot and I know the answer now. You can link your debit card and send international payments with your debit card only if it's private bank like icici, hdfc, axis, kotak etc.
