how to send 1000 emails from one email address safely?

Hey, guys!
I need to send press releases and promotional materials for my bands debut album release. I've got A LOT of relevant email addresses worldwide that I want to send to, but I guess if I just do that from my mail they'll be marked as spam, do you know how can I do that with better chances of the emails to get where they have to?

Can i put email addresses in mailchimp and send them? isn't this like aweber - people have to put their email address voluntarily before you can send them stuff?

Spread them out over time i mean lots of hosts allow 500 an hour so send 500 then wait i guess.
 
Yes mailchimp requires users to subscribe to your emails. Best bet is a VPS or hire someone.
