Hi guys, long time member on the forums, I rarely post because I'm not very good at making money.

I've just graduated from University and I'm looking for a career now so that I can settle down here in the UK (getting visa is hard). I'm in a very tough spot in my life so I'm always looking for opportunities to better myself and get employed with a big enough company to get my visa.

However I came across this video, and I think it's help a lot of you. It's mainly focused on web design (my primary career choice), but it can be applied to any freelance career. It is about how to sell yourself, and get customers to understand that your work is important.

Or let your work talk for you. Show them your samples if you are the shit and your prices are competitive people will buy.

My full-time job involves a lot of selling. The unsurprising truth is that people are not stupid. If your hard selling and being really pushy you'll inevitably lose the sale. Treat them like a human being. Be informal and make that transition from client to friend. If they can believe in you then they can believe in what you are selling.

Listen up and take a knee kids. Bring your notepads and put seatbelts on your ears, because I'm gonna hit them with some knowledge.

Sales:
- Call attention of target market
- Make OTT results-based promise
- Show undeniable proof, fulfilling promise
- Make them painfully aware of their problem
- Rub salt into their wounds even more
- Attach solution to step-by-step process (your product)
- Show them someone they relate to achieving your solution
- Offer your product
- Limited discount offer, first 10 customers get a $10 Starbucks coupon yadda yadda
- $$$

Sell an angle not the product itself, and people will pull out their credit cards.
