How to sell without face2face?

I joined offline marketing a few months ago and its working great. Im earning big numbers but allways have to care about new clients.
I just launched a directory this week and wanted to ask you how to sell without face to face meetings cause I normaly work with 5k+ lifetimevalueclients. Its a different thing to meet up for 5k or for 50? per month I think.
Note: Im only working with direct mail.

Are you offering them a trial or a discount initially to join your directory? If so what I have found is hiring someone out on commission is a pretty easy and passive way to accumulate customers. Say your directory is $50/mo and you offer the first month or two for $25 dollars. You give a high percentage of that to the guy that gets the sale and then you roll from there. It's sort of the clickbank of the offline marketing. They are doing all the work for you initially and you are getting a great deal on the back end. If they don't make you sales, they don't get paid and this will be a lot easier to scale because you hire a bunch of people.

Google recently did a big crack down on directory sites with their latest update. That is they de-indexed most directory sites. You may want to take a further look into that as you move forward with this idea.
