Can you please tell me how to sell songs/music legally like amazon, itunes. Songs/music i mean are copyrighted by sony music, etc., Not my individual ones.
Searching around web i found i need to approach each company and get license. It won't work out for me.
Is there any ways around like partnering with other websites, or affiliate type of sites offering this.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, but it goes to amazon website. What i mean is people buy from my site(payment comes to my merchant A/C). And i pay some royalty fee to that website/company.

I guess you will have to buy the songs from the distribution company under a contract and get the license. I think it can turn out to be costly at first but if you are able to sell the songs at the rate at which amazon sells then you will be able to cover it up soon

Scorpion King,

Different online music distributors have their own models for selling music online. Some like Apple have artists sign up or "apply" to sell music through their service while others may have specialized contracts with artists. If you are talking about just attracting any artist and selling their music on your website you may just want to market to them like you would any other customer you are selling a service too. Generally the appeal (take apple for example) is the ability to subsidize music titles, get exposure for aritsts and provide a seamless interface for customers to purchase on. Don't forget that the format of the files you provide for download must be able to be played on a range of devices. This is why Apple has such a lock down on their content is because it is incredible hard to get music from itunes and play it one anything else but their devices.

Check out Apple's application process,

hope that helps,
Shawn
