Hi,

i want to rent a linux vps and run windows application on it.

As of now, following:

AMR
Scrapebox
Zennoposter
tweetattacks.

I have a windows VPS running these now but is there any way i can get a linux vps and start running these with help of wine of some other similar system.

Not everything works under wine, but for seo tools (not games,etc...) I wouldn't think that it would be a problem. Install X server on your vps and forward it to a local linux box, or simple use vnc to access the gui remotely if you don't have linux installed locally.

Sorry, no way to use ScrapeBox on Linux VPS. I tried a lot but without success.

I don't believe that all the windows tools will be able to run on Linux server, however some may run but again it will require proper patches.

Quite honestly, unless you got a heck of a deal there with your linux VPS you should just opt for a Windows VPS, if you don't need something huge they aren't that expensive either.

I use this one and it hasn't failed me yet (thought I didn't do much yet, but no crashes, downtime or anything in that sense)

i already have a windows vps and it is running fine bbut on volumedrive there are much higher specs available only on the linux vps for a little higher price than what i am currently paying.

I've been thinking over getting a windows VPS for running AMR and SB. If there is a way to run them on a linux server, why bother paying more for the same sytem configuration. On xsserver.eu 1GB RAM 2.6GHz windows vps is 35$ while 2GB RAM 7.9GHz linux vps is 31$. So is there a stable way to run tools on a linux server?

I know wine is not strictly an emulator (and I have not used it) but it seems to me there will be at least some overhead associated with running it. If there is that means at least some of your "better specs for the money" is going to get eaten up anyway so the net will not be a good as it is at first glance.

While I could see making it work I can also see this as a big time sink. Even if it cost you as little as an extra hour a month (and I bet it would be a lot more). How much is your time worth.

Seriously guys if you are using scrapebox etc enough to need a vps sell a couple of link packages or something to pay for the extra few bucks even if you do not want to get into selling services full time.
