I wish I knew.

In many ways this is a great forum. A unique forum, filled with good ideas and umm... warez.
But senior members are dropping out.

Here is the problem: If we share (among peers) we will all win. Two heads are better than one and all that.

But no one wants to piss into the wind. Why should I post my hard earned "secrets" for every lurker and leecher on the internet? With people who aren't even members of the forum?

At the same time I don't believe in bargaining. "I have this script. What will you trade me?"

Perhaps the most famous forum is syndk8. You now have to apply to join.
They have levels above levels. (It is worse than the Masons)

If you think that at the higher levels "all will be revealed" you would be wrong.
There are no "warez" and no more than the broadest hint of ideas. They are a bunch of wolves wanting to play poker with each other. There is no sharing.

So here's the bottom line: We all want to make money. More to the point we want to make a living on the internet. A GOOD living. Like $100,000+ a year.

We have all been ripped of by the "gurus" who sell us their bogus "secrets" for $97 at 3 am. That is why we share their bullshit scripts and ebooks.

What is the answer? Perhaps share with each other but only after (say) 100 good posts. NOT posts like "I agree" or "Thanks for that"

I am not asking that people tell their niches or show their sites. Only a fool would do that, but if we share our ideas on what works and what doesn't then we can all do better.

This is truely brilliant, this is the way of the forum, that seems corrupted. I think order can be restored and we can go about make money.

to run a great black hat forum.....i believe its all in the members

without some of these fabolous members this forum wil be full pf noobs

and it will be. I will act like all the praised members here, i will not contribute shit but leech, and then maybe i will be heard.

I am a member of various other forums and have learnt that the members make the content, the members make the forum!
It would be so nice to be able to share tactics with each other and not be self centred. However, that won't always be possible as there are many mean people in this world who don't care about others' losses.

You know I sit back and see some of the issues that have flown thru here lately, and can't understand why anyone would ever bicker after reading Wombat's post. Sharing every program on the planet is great (especially in a blackhat forum) but you want to know the real reason why this forum exploded after Dave took the intiative to remove Spammer23 from here?

It's because the guy cares about his forum and it's member. Sure he may not be here all the time, he's got other things to do as well as everyone else. But he (from my understanding) wasn't aware of the extremeties and scamming the forum was going thru. However, since he does it care, he made it very obvious when he removed the offender and looked for help. No man can take on such a task. I (myself) couldn't even perform a respectful duty as a Moderator because of time constraints.

But the one thing that seperated this forum (and still can) from places such as Syndic8 and other blackhat forums is because no matter how blackhat someone is they are a good enough person to share it with their counterparts. You shouldn't feel like a competitor in a forum. If you do, then you join for all the wrong reasons. This forum kicked ass because everyone supported one another. You can act as badass as you want but in the end, it doesn't make your paychecks any bigger, nor does it help progress your businesses online.

So I ain't claiming to be any expert, but it seems there is a lot of nonsense and less helping and support floating around. These things can happen easily. However, a mature person will not hold a grudge. It was a person from this very forum that taught me not to. This is not a forum where you get shit on for introducing yourself, nor is it a forum where we would call you gay for asking a generic question. Those forums are filled with hopefuls that cannot see past how cool they looked because they called someone else a noob. This forum isn't that way, and that's what makes it great.

The owner, the mods and the members decide how a forum is operated. If Admin and Mods or Members cannot be open minded enough to provide the above, then you got dead weight in the forum and you need to cut it now. Maybe later on those people will realize what a grave mistake they made, but you don't take no chances and you don't allow it EVER.

You might seem impartial, and you might get a lot of hate mail (I know I did), but you treat everyone fair, you back up a good seller, you back up a good buyer, you give respect and rep where it's do, you participate accordingly and there should be no reason for bullshit. There won't be none, if you don't allow none.

Anyway, I just wanted to drop my $0.02. I still plan on visiting when I can, I just don't have the time alloted to participate as much as I used to.

To Your Success!

Wombat, you summed up everything perfectly and is what I envision BHW to be. Before we tried having 25 post limit and all that produced were "Thanks" posts. If we created a limit of 100 it would only make these posts worse. To combat this issue, post counts no longer matter. Reputation points are what count now and you as members can decide who moves up.

How do you gain rep points? By posting useful threads and sharing other members can give out rep.

Think a member made an awesome post? Give some rep.
Think a member made a shitty post. Take some rep.
I set the rep fairly low to begin with (21 points for download access), as many people have not been giving rep.

And yes Ruck is right, I do care about the forum and it's members. I may not post here to often (due to my job 60 hours a week) but rest assured I am in daily contact with Luther and my programmer working to make things better. i.e. The product review section members asked about has been installed and the categories will be added shortly... http://www.blackhatworld.com/review :)

Hmm... I have more points than Luther. Shouldn't I be a VIP or something? :D

I guess this is kind of a bad time to be a new member, with the old hands leaving we cherries may have to re-invent the wheel. Then again, sometimes a redesign is in order.
