How To Replicate Techchuck AutoBlog

Lot of great info. Thanks for all the links everyone. Have a new site I'm starting up and this is a new way for me to test out.

I have been working on my blog for 2 days straight now and have a serious problem. After 4 hours now I still cannot figure out how to change my wordpress blog text title to a image or logo at the top. I see that it has been asked here many times, but no answer yet. I have googled this for hours and just cant seem to get a straight answer for the elegant box 4.01 theme. Can someone Please put together some code for me so that I can just drop it into my blog, unless there is some magical widget that can do this, but yet to be found by me. Please help!!!

Oh man...

You change the text in the general settings of your admin area. If you want to add a logo, you'll have to make a CSS class with the background set as your logo image.

If you're really hard pressed and that still sounds like nonsense,
I'd download specopskirbs template package a few posts up and, make a logo, title it "logo.gif" and replace the file and upload his theme via ftp.

I'd also highly recommend getting the firebug extension for Firefox...saves a lot of CSS/HTML hassles

well i deleted my blog completely ..
installed a fresh wp copy..and everything..
now feeds are working..
i wonder wat happened in the first place

I had just setup my own autoblog but I have a problem. WP o matic does not fetch when cron job is executed automatically but when I manually fetch it works fine. Please help me. thanx tia.

And now my godaddy server is down again!!! Can't believe this! Called them up for the second time in two days. Server was slow now nothing at all. Some 99.99% up time guarantee they have. They claim that someone (and not me) has been chewing up bandwith.

I see that I have started to recieve traffic on the second day that my new autoblog has gone up. But I know that this has to be from wp-o-matic pings? My G analytics says that the traffic is reffered from the website that I have wp-o-matic pulling feeds from (as a unique vistor). So does this mean that every time wp-o-matic runs it is a unique visitor? I am not indexed on G or any othere search engines yet on purpose. I was to see how everything works before I start to get the name out there.

So many questions guys sorry.

I have had this problem also for the longest time. Under the wp-o-matics options I un-checked the Unix cron check box. Now every hour it seems to post all the jobs on my blog perfectly! Not sure what the Unix cron is for, but one I unchecked it, it works. Someone correct me if Im wrong here?

Go and bookmark your blog to Digg.com , within 24 hours it will get indexed by Big G .

I am using his theme currently for testing right now to see how this all works. Wow this is day 5 straight now!

But my question is to you did specopskirbs already modify the stylesheet so that I can just simply drop in a file called logo.gif? It is just crazy hard to change the text title on the top of my blog to an image or logo of my choice. Any idea's, help!?

well i don't know why this happened or how this happened and how can i fix it ?

The thing is.. my blog was running on autoblogged for over a week now..
everything was working fine... categories fine, tags super good..
now suddenly what happened was, today i checked..
all of my categories are gone and all of my tags are gone..
theres not even a single freakin tag or category left..
when i go to WP>manage>categories and try to add the same older categories, it says it already exists.. but actually it is not...
i tried to edit any post through edit option and categories are showing up in most popular and not in all categories.. same thing is happening when i edit any feed in autoblogged..
i wonder why this is happening.. i checked my database and there too.. no category exists.. i fail to understand that how can the categories and tags be automatically deleted?? the best thing is my category called "uncategorized" which is default in wp has also been deleted..
can anyone of u tell me how to solve this problem?

Well here comes the funny part..

till date none of my posts are indexed in Google except from my main page..
but after deletion of my categories and tags, Google quickly indexed all my post which are added today to my blog which don't even have a tag or a category.. the sad part is , it doesn't even show any adsense ad as theres is no tag present. I wonder is google lame or is the indexing system lame or are they just avoiding the duplicate tags and categories ?


Anyway so this is my experience after 7 days of my autoblogging.. i would really appreciate if someone would help me to solve my problem of categories .

Just to let you know that what all things i have done till now..
*uploaded specopskirb's template and plugins
*Iam using autoblogged instead of wp-o-matic
*iam using 10 feeds
*no extra plugins
*a lil modification in the theme but that just design based
*I am not using the category icons plugin
*everything actually worked for 6 days but all of it got fudged up on the seventh day

So guys I figured out how to get rid of the text banner at the top of my blog and turn it into a picture logo!! Thought I would share since I worked all day to find this searching G.

Just make sure when you get to the part when your trying to link your image back to your home page that you enter:

This goes under h1 a under stylesheet.css

by doin nothing.. it solved itself...
dunno how it happened.. but all my categories are back and all my tags are back..
does anyone have a logical explanation to this??

Heres the best part again :

when there were no tags and no categories.. google quickly indexed my 23 pages...
and now when all the tags and categories are back google deindexed my pages and only 9 of my pages are currently indexed in google..
does anyone have a logical explanation to this ??

I seriously dont understand how google index pages..
but in the end Iam happy that all my tags and categories are back..
so if anyone have an explanation to all this drama, please enlighten me so i can protect my blog from this kinda thing in future
