How to remove negative SEO?

Unfortunately mate having a forum like you do is a recipe for spam links as you are noticing. The best advice is to lock down your forum as much as possible to deter people from spamming your forum. Don't allow links in signature or on members pages. Add additional levels of security for sign up to deter xrumer.

Then you work on link removals as suggested. Disavow will work after you can show Google link removals but dont be disavowing before.

But mate, lock down that forum and get rid of all of these spam members.

I have added more security to the forum and now it's way better! As for your second part, do you mean to request a URL removal by Google first, then disavow?

Is Disavow the solution?

I noticed previously, I think back in August when backlinks started dropping like flies. That when backlinks where "deleted" in Majesticseo that they had infact been deindexed by Google. But now I've checked this weekend and my Majesticseo account shows several deleted links but they have not in-fact been deindexed by Google, they still show in Google listings. Do you guys think it could be an error in Majestic? If so anyone got any recommendations of decent backlink checking software. Currently I use Market Samuri too. Or is it best just to disavow these links anyway?

Any Thoughts...

Go to Google webmaster tools and find you links. Get them listed (most recent or whatever order you like) THEN....

Download them
Put them in Scrapebox
Trim to root
Remove Dupes
Run "WHOIS" checker
Export results as CSV
Set up a macro to send emails including link examples to as many sites as you have emails for (easy done in Excel or Openoffice)
Check for any sites that give you over 10 links that you HAVEN'T scraped contact details for (probably shitty SWL's - but you'll need to check)
Manually go to these sites and get contact details or note that they haven't got any.
If they have - send them the same mail you did above

Wait a week
Note in your spreadsheet the ones that have been removed.
Put the list of those that HAVEN'T in a .txt file - links ONLY
Send this as a disavow list to Google with a link to the spreadsheet on Google drive (proof of your efforts)
Wait 24-48 hours

Put in reconsideration request pointing to the work you've done.

Cross your fingers and hope.

Scritty

Note: if it was the dodgy links that were keeping you high in SERPS before - and now you have had to remove them - you aren't going to be high in SERPs any more. You need to replace that link juice.

9 times outta 10 the idea of boucing back is a fallacy. You were high based on links that Google have pulled away from you - you need to replace them. If you do nothing you will NOT bounce anywhere.

Also - Google like it if you try the webmasters more than once. The more effort and proof you give them, the better they seem to take the reconsideration request

Partial penalties are a fuck of a lot easier to get removed than sitewide ones - and recover quicker

Bear all this in mind.

I didn't make the rules to this twats game - it's just the way it is I'm afraid.
