How to remove dead sites from the index?

Hey!

Lets say a website is offline now for 1-2 weeks, whats best to do that google removes the sites and links faster from the index (if its not your site btw). I know that this cannot happen in days but I read a nice tutorial here some time ago but couldnt find it anymore.

You can ask them directly for it. There's the explanations in Webmaster Tools.

If i remember well, to have it done faster, you will need to add noindex tag in your robots.txt.

If it's not your website, you can ask them but be a little bit realistic. If anybody can remove anybody pages from Google index, how do you think it will be...

u want to de-index a website ??? if so, the easiest way is to block the google bot in .htaccess
