I have problem...

A successful philanthropist and businessman (Lets call him John Doe #1) is unfortunate enough to have the same name as another piece of shit kid in his city (John Doe #2).

The problem is, John Doe #2 pissed off a crazy person who subsequently made a hate page against him. This PR0 hate page sits at #1 in google for the term "John Doe", with the other 9 front page results being PR2-4 pages about the good guy John Doe #1.

The hate page causes massive issues for John #1.

All attempts to negotiate with the crazy guy to take the page down have failed.

What other options are there to remove him from the top spot, or all together? Blackhat or otherwise?

More info on the hate site:
PR0, 1480 indexed pages, 2 links to the hate page, been up since 2006

Since he is advertising SEO services on his site, I think he may be into some black hat stuff himself.

The other 9 results are social profiles, youtube videos, and other sites about the good John Doe.

Option 1: Create more links to all the John Doe #1 profiles, videos, etc.

Option 2: Add a picture of John Doe #1 to the profiles and ask the site owner to add a pic of John Doe #2 to his anti John Doe #2 site. He will do that since it hurts John Doe #2. People will then know the difference.

He actually has a big green box and photo praising John Doe #1, but the site is such a mess its hard to make sense of. The biggest worry is the page title that comes in the results along the lines of "JOHN DOE IS A SHIT CRAZY MOTHERFUCKER"

I've started SEO and reported the guy via Google's own tool for selling links (which he is) - So that's worth a shot.

Do better SEO for the good urls. his url will sink and you get more backlinks for the good urls so it is 2 X 1.

profile blast and index them fast with an indexing service

It'll work short term but long term it'll probably just come back stronger and harder to shift. Number of links obviously play a part in rankings, but it is just one factor. EMD, age, on-page SEO, unique content, link anchor text and PR of backlinks are all going to be considered as well and all a spam campaign can really accomplish long term is nullifying the number of links factor.

At least that's how I understand it.

DOS atack best way!!!

Only problem with this is that it's temporary, and since he knows we've been trying to take him down, he'll know its us. When it comes back he's got top spot to direct that hate page at the good guy!

start a site johndoe-2-hatesme.com and rank it above that one...

Draft fake Lawyer email quoting defamation and cease and desist action.
If they dont take it down send another one talking about making a civil claim against them. That is if you can actually prove it is that person to begin with. To do that you may need to hire the services of a P.I or buy some smartphone hacking software.

You could try making a bunch of profiles for John Doe 1 on popular social sites like linkedin, digg, twitter all the basics it won't remove him but it could push back to page two. Thats how some of the guys who offer reputation management do it.

how did he manage to take the #1 spot, EMD or is it the age of domain?

Rank more stuff for good john doe, dislodge bad john doe from #1. Hmm, could you engage universal search. Put a bunch of videos of good john doe up and rank them. Does good john doe have a business? Can you get it to come up with the Google Places?

Generally I agree to actually remove posts out of the serps is near impossible unless the original poster removes it.

As stated above almost everyone can be reasoned with.

If you can get them to just amend the title or the page so it is very obvious who is who, that would make a huge difference for John Doe number 1. Contact the "crazy person" and you might be surprised...

He should therefore be able to afford seo services to get him the top spot!

I do this work all of the time. Contact me if you want a quote.

Just Buy some 10 domains on the same name with slight modifications and host them on blogger with different IDs.. Rank them and start profile, sb blasts..

Mean while get some free Web2.0 properties and all other free items available.. (get porn and gaming links to his site.. which has to play bad neghbourhood with all porn links.. )

All these involves some money n time... But thats not impossible.. :) you cannot completely remove the site but u can push him to 2nd or 3rd page.. :) :)

Cheers,
Tom

This lunatic is already outranking twitter, PR4 youtube videos, linkedin, and other social/authority type sites.

We have the exact match domain but there's nothing on it - That'll be the first step.

Yeah, create a bunch of optimized web2.0 pages (hubpages, weebly, blogger, wordpress etc). Then blast the fuck out of them with SB/Xrumer. Keep blasting them until you push the fucker off the first page. When that is done link from them to the money site and see it rise above them. ;)
