How to register a co.uk domain name?

I recently registered two co.uk domain names and i don't reside in the UK. I got this email from Godaddy ...

"The .uk registry, Nominet, requires us to confirm accurate contact information for all domains. Please verify your information for the following domain

The process is fast and simple. If your contact information hasn't been validated in 30 days, your domain may be suspended. Take care of it right away to avoid any interruption to your website or email service. If you need to update contact information, please do so for all domains listed above.

If you prefer, you may email us a copy of your photo ID or a recent utility bill or recent bank statement with your name and address clearly displayed."

Please advice.

i thought .co.uk were ok to be bought from anywhere but .uk had to be uk resident

Nope. Need a UK resident proof.

Since when ? i recently had a co.uk domain , operating and hosting it from greece.

You just need a handle with real UK address. Do you have someone in the UK to take name and address from ?

There isn't anything in that message that says you have to have uk id, just give them your normal address.

Lesson learned: never ever use Godaddy again.

Now go to http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/gen-random-en-uk.php , generate a name and use that to register a .co.uk domain at Namecheap or Internetbs.
