How to recover unpublished pages?

The official page for a brand I collaborate was unpublished today due to this explanation:

'Your Page has been unpublished for causing people to like or engage with it unintentionally in a misleading way, such as merging unrelated Pages to create a Page that more people like. All Pages must comply with the Facebook Page Guidelines.'

As I said, this is a registered brand. There was only one merge with another page - that Facebook ALLOWED - with the same name at the beginning of this year 2016. After that, we didn't merge the page with another pages.

This Facebook page is essential for our brand since it is our official way of communicating with our customers, especially during this coming Christmas period. We have planned some Facebook Ads campaigns for the next days as we did before.

After my appeal, I received this "automatic" reply:

"Your Page has been unpublished for causing people to like or engage with it unintentionally in a misleading way, such as merging unrelated Pages, or changing the Page's name, to create a Page that more people like.

Our Page Terms state that: 'We will only process name changes and migrations that do not result in a misleading or unintended connection.

All Pages must comply with the Facebook Page Guidelines: https://www.facebook.com/page_guidelines.php"

This is not correct since we haven't done more merges after that single one we've made.

Their usual reply to this is:

"We have a no-tolerance policy concerning this infraction and your page is ineligible to be republished.

However, you are welcome to create a new page. To be sure your page is not unpublished in the future, please be sure to review the page guidelines, found here:

Again, this makes no sense since they cannot prove my infraction.

Is there some form/e-mail I can contact so they can analyze this urgent situation again carefully?

Was your page unpublished after a second merge?
If so, did you request a name change so you could merge it your main page or did it already have a similar name?
Was the content similar - or the same - on both pages you merged?

I have just made one merge at the beginning of this year (the page had few likes at that moment). The merge was accepted by Facebook since both pages had the same name.

Now I had more than 20k likes and they decided to unpublish it. Ridiculous...

so you merged both pages at the begining of the year and they unpublished your page in December?
that is... weird. they usually unpublish a page right after the merge takes place, a few days, a week after tops.

how many likes did you have on the main page and how many likes did you have on the second page before the merge?

I don't remember but only few likes, not more than 2-3k on the main page and less than 1k in the other page. But the merge was accepted at that moment, so even if this is the problem I can't understand their decision.

There is no way to contact those bastards and when they reply, it's automated answers...

ok, so it was not the case of your extra page having more likes than your main page. it still is very very strange that they would unpublish your page due to a merge that happened 10 or so months ago.

they will always aprove your merge, because both pages had a similar name and that is allowed by Facebook. however, if they suspect of fraudulent acquisition of likes at a later time, they won't hesitate unpublishing your page. right or wrong, it's your problem, not theirs. you can only hope they approve your appeal request and do it as quickly as possible.

when you receive a reply to your appeal, you will see a large code being part of the email address. that means that address is unique to you.
you may reply to that email and present your case. be polite, reassure them that you didn't do anything intentionally, appologise, if you have any screenshots that can help you, attach those, as well as any documents of may have regarding your business. you might be lucky. keep trying if you don't receive a reply in 2 or 3 days.

if they see they may be wrong in unpublishing your page, they will reinstate your page like they did to mine.

Last weeks there is strange things with pages, I lost 6 pages for no reason, for two years I was posting pictures and links, and suddenly fb unpublish them but with no restrictions on bunch other similar pages who making same posts.

Only you could try to wrote them email and hope to have luck. Also I am sure that merging pages isn't reason because you make it long time ago. But keep in mind that their algorithm sucks and it could be that he is now found your merging from start of the year. Still no sense why that is wrong, algorithm mistake, no second explanation.

What was your problem?

My pages got unpublished once as they prompted people to buy prohibited items.

I deleted all posts that had a call to action, like "buy xyz online". Xyz being the prohibited product. I did not delete informative posts about xyz, only ones with call to action.

I then filed for a review and my page was live again the next day with all the likes intact.

What and how did you fill for a review?

i grew a second page through several merges of profiles that Facebook forced me to convert into pages. when i couldn't be bothered managing 2 pages about the same thing anymore - plus, the increase of likes on my main page would be nice -, i requested a name change for the second page, stating from the very start that the goal was the merge with my main one.

they asked me to make a post on my website about the merge and wait 7 days, which i did, and i even threw in a banner on my website's homepage telling our readers about the upcoming changes as a bonus and to show good faith. they were happy with it, they changed the name of the page and 7 days later i merged both pages.

2 days after the merge my page was unpublished. i had a strong case though because i posted the same exact content on both pages for about 2 years. so it was definitely not a case of misleading people... well, at least not regarding content. i appealed several times, they eventually replied about 2 weeks later. i sent screenshots of the email exchange about the name change request and was very convincing in my appeal. they republished my page whithin an hour or so.

I apologize, didn't figure out that they think about your business not generally merging. That's nice from them that they offer some fair thing someone. Others just have unfair treatment.
