How to read with amazon kindle?

Hey guys, i want to read some books from amazong and they're available on amazon kindle only or they're cheap on kindle, so kindle works best.

I've never used kindle to read books, so i wanted to ask if i need to buy amazon kindle tool or can i actually use it on my laptop?

Please advise me how do i get started, thanks!
